Yankees' Jon Berti: Likely out 6-to-8 weeks
Berti (calf) is wearing a walking boot and isn't expected to be able to return from the 10-day injured list for 6-to-8 weeks, MLB.com reports.
Berti was injured while running out of the batter's box during a game May 24 and was subsequently diagnosed with a high-grade left calf strain. He landed on the IL the following day and received a platelet-rich plasma injection May 28. DJ LeMahieu came off the injured list four days after Berti went down and has reclaimed the primary third base role for the Yankees.

Yankees' Jon Berti: Hits injured list with calf strain
The Yankees placed Berti on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a left calf strain.
Berti was in visible pain after falling to the ground as he began to run toward first base during Friday's game, and it will officially cost him at least 10 days as he heads to the injured list. The trainers appeared to be working near Berti's Achilles' tendon while he was on the ground, though imaging showed he suffered only a calf strain as a result of the incident. Kevin Smith will come up from Triple-A to take Berti's roster spot.

Yankees' Jon Berti: Dealing with high-grade strain
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that Berti was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a high-grade left calf strain, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
Boone didn't provide a timeline for Berti, though the 34-year-old will remain on the IL well beyond the 10-day minimum. Berti sustained the injury in an 8-0 win over the Padres on Friday, when he collapsed to the ground after running out of the batter's box in the ninth inning. Kevin Smith was called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre on Saturday and should provide infield depth while Berti is on the shelf.

Yankees' Jon Berti: Exits with injury
Berti was removed from Friday's game against the Padres with an apparent leg injury, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
Berti collapsed to the ground running out of the batter's box and was in visible pain after hitting a groundball to second base in the ninth inning. Athletic trainers immediately began tending to his lower left leg -- near his Achilles tendon -- and the 34-year-old infielder couldn't put any weight on his left leg as he was helped off the field. The Yankees will presumably take Berti in for imaging, and it's very possible he requires a trip to the injured list.

Berti is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners.
Berti finds himself on the bench for the second day in a row after he had started at third base in each of the preceding three games while going 3-for-9 with a home run and two walks. While he might not have eclipsed Oswaldo Cabrera on the depth chart just yet, Berti has been poaching more work of late from Cabrera, who has mustered an underwhelming .626 OPS since the beginning of May. Berti's first homer of the season came off White Sox starter Chris Flexen with two outs and two men on in the fourth. It was the first extra-base hit of the season for Berti, who is now hitting .277 after entering the contest batting .250 through 44 at-bats.
