  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Clubs another homer

Devers went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored during Thursday's 7-5 loss to the Rays.

Devers took righty Zack Littell yard for a solo homer in the second inning, marking the lefty third baseman's second straight game with a long ball. All six of Devers' homers this season have come off RHP, and he boasts a .302/.394/.593 slash line against opposite-handed pitching.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Clubs homer in loss

Devers went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Wednesday in a loss to the Rays.

Devers' sixth-inning solo shot brought Boston to within a run, but it ended up being the final tally for either team. The long ball extended the third baseman's on-base streak to nine contests, and he's hitting .270 with two homers, five RBI and five runs over that stretch. On a less positive note, Devers has struck out at least once in 12 straight games, and his 24.1 percent strikeout rate is on pace to be his worst mark since the abbreviated 2020 campaign.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Moving to cleanup

Devers is expected to hit in the four-hole for the foreseeable future, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports.

Devers slotted in at cleanup Wednesday and went 1-for-4 in a loss to Atlanta. He usually hits second in the order, but manager Alex Cora wants to separate the two lefties at the top -- Jarren Duran bats leadoff. Connor Wong hit second Wednesday against lefty Chris Sale, and Cora said he'll probably use Wilyer Abreu there against righties.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Two hits, including homer, in win

Devers went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and two runs scored in Sunday's 9-2 win over the Twins.

After opening the game 0-for-3, Devers singled and later came around to score in the top of the eighth inning before launching a two-run home run off Jay Jackson in the following frame. The long ball was his fourth of the season and his first in 10 games. Since returning from a bone bruise in his left knee April 24, Devers has batted .415 with two homers, seven RBI and eight runs scored over 41 at-bats in 11 contests.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Heating up at plate

Devers went 3-for-5 with a run scored in Thursday's 6-4 loss to Cleveland.

Devers produced a second consecutive three-hit effort after missing five games with a knee injury. He's gone 6-for-9 with a double, home run, two RBI and two runs scored in his two games back. The downtime appears to have given the balky shoulder he was dealing with during Boston's homestand last week time to heal, but Devers has yet to resume playing third base. According to Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe, manager Alex Cora said prior to Thursday's game that Devers is likely to remain the Red Sox's designated hitter through Friday before potentially returning to action at third base Saturday versus the Cubs.

  • Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Returns with bang

Devers went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double, a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 8-0 win over Cleveland.

Devers was in the lineup for the first time in a week while dealing with a bone bruise in his left knee. He returned as the designated hitter and recorded his first multi-hit game since Opening Day. The next hurdle for Devers will be playing a game in the field.
