Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that Soto (forearm) will go through his normal pregame routine and may be available off the bench Sunday against the Dodgers, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports. Boone also indicated that Soto should rejoin the lineup during the four-game series in Kansas City that begins Monday, as the outfielder appears to be progressing well in his recovery from forearm inflammation. It remains to be seen if the 25-year-old will be back in action Monday against the Royals, but it appears his absence won't extend too much longer.... See More ... See Less

Yankees' Juan Soto: Remaining on bench Sunday
Soto (forearm) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers. Yankees manager Aaron Boone indicated Saturday that Soto likely wouldn't be back in the lineup for a few days, so it's hardly a surprise he's on the bench again Sunday. Boone also indicated the 25-year-old would "probably" take swings Sunday, which could put the outfielder on track to play sometime during the four-game set in Kansas City that begins Monday.... Yankees' Juan Soto: Feeling better, could hit Sunday
Manager Aaron Boone said Saturday that Soto (forearm) will "probably" take swings Sunday, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports. Boone said earlier Saturday that it would likely be a few more days before Soto would re-enter the Yankees' lineup. On top of being a candidate to hit Sunday, Soto went through a significant amount of his pregame prep Saturday, per Brendan Kuty of The Athletic, which is yet another encouraging sign for Soto after the injury scare Thursday.... Yankees' Juan Soto: Remains out Saturday
Soto (forearm) isn't in the Yankees' lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers. Soto will miss a second consecutive game since making an early exit from Thursday's contest. The Yankees are optimistic that the slugging outfielder will be able to avoid a trip to the injured list, but manager Aaron Boone said Saturday that it will likely be a few more days before Soto gets back into the lineup, per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. In the meantime, Trent Grisham will continue to start in center field while Aaron Judge fills the void in right.... See More ... See Less -
Yankees' Juan Soto: Should avoid injured list
Imaging on Soto's left elbow came back clean, and the outfielder could be available this weekend, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. The 25-year-old was diagnosed with forearm inflammation but doesn't appear to be dealing with a severe injury, and he should be considered day-to-day. A quick return to the lineup is plausible, though Soto is certainly not guaranteed to see the field versus the Dodgers this weekend. Trent Grisham will enter the lineup in his place and man center field Friday, pushing Aaron Judge to right.... See More ... See Less -
Yankees' Juan Soto: Initial imaging shows inflammation
Soto received a preliminary diagnosis of left forearm inflammation after undergoing medical imaging Friday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports. He's out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Dodgers. The 25-year-old was removed from Thursday's contest with left forearm discomfort, which he apparently has dealt with throughout the past week. Soto will sit for at least one game, and his outlook for the immediate future remains a bit murky. The initial reports are an encouraging development and indicate he may have avoided a serious injury, however.... See More ... See Less -
Yankees' Juan Soto: Set for imaging
Soto (forearm) will undergo imaging Friday after experiencing forearm soreness during Thursday's game against the Twins, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports. Soto didn't return to Thursday's game after a lengthy rain delay. The move was framed as a precautionary measure by manager Aaron Boone, though he also disclosed that Soto has been bothered by forearm discomfort for the past week. It wouldn't be a surprise to see the Yankees be cautious with Soto in the short term, though the team has not announced any official plans.... See More ... See Less -
