Keith was removed from Saturday's game against Milwaukee with left knee discomfort, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports. Keith and Akil Baddoo collided in right field while running at full speed, but Keith took the brunt of it and was removed from the contest during the third inning. Considering Keith was able to walk off the field without any assistance, it seems like he avoided a major injury. Still, the Tigers will likely continue to evaluate him throughout Saturday evening. Detroit will finish its three-game series against the Brewers on Sunday ahead of a team off day.... See More ... See Less

Tigers' Colt Keith: Removed from game after collision
Keith was removed from Saturday's game against the Brewers in the third inning after colliding with Akil Baddoo while tracking down a flyball, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports. Keith was running full speed toward the foul line in right field and collided with Akil Baddoo as the ball dropped. The second baseman looked to be grabbing at his left leg before walking back to the dugout unassisted. Zach McKinstry replaced Keith at second base.... See More ... See Less -
Tigers' Colt Keith: Goes deep Friday
Keith went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Red Sox. Keith connected for his second home run of the season in the eighth inning against Boston reliever Greg Weissert. After a slow start to the year, the rookie had a torrid May, slashing .342/.388/.493 with both of his home runs and 14 RBI across 24 games. If Keith keeps up this level of performance in June and beyond, he'll be a huge fantasy asset down the stretch.... See More ... See Less -
Tigers' Colt Keith: Held out against lefty
Keith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports. The lefty-hitting Keith will take a seat for the series finale while southpaw Yusei Kikuchi takes the hill for Toronto. Andy Ibanez will fill in for Keith at the keystone.... See More ... See Less -
Tigers' Colt Keith: On bench versus lefty
Keith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks Keith went 4-for-9 with a walk, two RBI and three runs while starting the first two games of the series, but he'll sit Sunday as lefty Jordan Montgomery takes the mound for Arizona. Andy Ibanez will man second base and bat leadoff.... See More ... See Less -
Tigers' Colt Keith: Out against lefty
Keith is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins. The lefty-hitting Keith will head to the bench for the second game in a row while the Tigers face off against another southpaw starter (Trevor Rogers). Andy Ibanez will spell Keith at second base.... See More ... See Less -
Tigers' Colt Keith: Sitting Tuesday
Keith is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against Miami. Keith will yield to right-handed Andy Ibanez on Tuesday as the Tigers face southpaw Ryan Weathers. In May, Keith is batting .250 with five RBI and three runs scored across nine games.... See More ... See Less -
Tigers' Colt Keith: Records two hits, stolen base
Keith went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Saturday's 8-2 win over the Astros. He also stole a base. Keith didn't start Friday with Houston deploying lefty Framber Valdez, but the second baseman returned Saturday and extended his hitting streak to three games. It's a small bit of progress for Keith, as the 22-year-old rookie is batting just .174 for the season. Expect the Tigers to remain patient with Keith, however, and give the talented youngster plenty of chances to settle in at the MLB level.... See More ... See Less -
Tigers' Colt Keith: Idle Friday
Keith is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Houston. Keith will dodge a matchup with left-hander Framber Valdez, yielding second base to Andy Ibanez. In 116 plate appearances to begin his rookie season, Keith is slashing a disappointing .162/.233/.181.... See More ... See Less -
Tigers' Colt Keith: Scores, drives in two Wednesday
Keith went 1-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI in Wednesday's 5-4, 10-inning loss to the Guardians. It's not a huge stat line but it is a small step forward for Keith, who's batting just .162 with a .414 OPS this season. The rookie now has hits in consecutive games, which is the first time he's done that since the middle of April. Keith may endure some more struggles as he gets used to the MLB level, though he's a talented prospect and should figure things out at some point.... See More ... See Less -
Tigers' Colt Keith: On bench Tuesday
Keith is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Guardians. Keith will get the day off as Andy Ibanez takes over at second base and hits leadoff. The 22-year-old has struggled in his first month-plus of big league action, slashing .158/.232/.178 over 112 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Tigers' Colt Keith: Starting Sunday after all
Keith will start at second base and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Yankees. The lefty-hitting Keith had been in line to receive Sunday's game off with southpaw Nestor Cortes taking the hill for New York, but the rookie was a late addition to the lineup after outfielder Wenceel Perez (illness) was scratched from the starting nine. As a result of Perez's removal from the lineup, Matt Vierling will move from third base to right field, while Andy Ibanez shifts over to the hot corner to open up second base for Keith.... Tigers' Colt Keith: Sitting against southpaw
Keith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees. The lefty-hitting Keith will retreat to the bench while southpaw Nestor Cortes takes the hill for the Yankees. Andy Ibanez will step in at second base in place of Keith, who has recorded an RBI in three straight games but still has just eight on the season while hitting .155 across his first 107 big-league plate appearances.... Tigers' Colt Keith: On bench Wednesday
Keith is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays. Keith will cede the keystone to Buddy Kennedy, marking the rookie's second absence from the lineup in four games. The 22-year-old has opened his big-league career with a .165/.224/.177 slash line through his first 85 plate appearances, and his ongoing struggles could be starting to cost him some playing time.... Tigers' Colt Keith: Not in Sunday's lineup
Keith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Minnesota, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports. Keith is mired in a 2-for-25 slump and will take a seat for Sunday's series finale. Buddy Kennedy will step in at second base and bat sixth.... See More ... See Less -
Tigers' Colt Keith: Sitting out Tuesday
Keith is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's contest versus the Rangers. It's the first day off against a right-hander this season for Keith, who had started each of the previous nine games. Zach McKinstry will occupy second base Tuesday.... See More ... See Less -
Tigers' Colt Keith: Tallies two hits in loss
Keith went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Monday's 7-4 loss to the Pirates. Keith now has hits in three straight games, and the rookie is batting a respectable .250 overall across his first 10 contests. He's yet to go deep this year after hitting a total of 27 home runs across two levels in 2023, but the power should come as long as he keeps making consistent contact. Keith should stay locked into a regular role as well, so the opportunity is there for the promising 22-year-old to have a strong debut campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Tigers' Colt Keith: Records first MLB stolen base
Keith went 3-for-8 with a walk, a double, an RBI and two runs scored across both games of Thursday's doubleheader against the Mets. He also stole a base. The double and the stolen base were both firsts for Keith at the MLB level. The 22-year-old isn't really known for his speed, as he never stole more than four bases in a season during his time in the minors. Instead, Keith should display more power when he settles in with the Tigers, as he posted an .890 OPS last season with Triple-A Toledo and a .976 OPS in 2022 with Double-A Erie. He only has a .554 OPS so far this year, but fantasy managers should remain patient because the upside is there.... See More ... See Less -
Tigers' Colt Keith: Takes seat Monday
Keith is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets. Keith will hit the bench for the first time in his young MLB career after starting each of the Tigers' first three contests in the season-opening sweep of the White Sox. Andy Ibanez will step in at the keystone for Keith, who went 1-for-11 with two walks in Chicago.... See More ... See Less -
Tigers' Colt Keith: Managing illness
Keith is out of the lineup for Friday's Grapefruit League game against the Phillies due to an illness, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports. Keith hasn't seen the field since Tuesday due to the ailment but expects to rejoin the starting nine Saturday. The 22-year-old is poised to operate as Detroit's primary second baseman this season after inking a six-year, $28.64 million extension in January.... See More ... See Less
