Greene got Detroit on the board early, belting a leadoff home run against Triston McKenzie in the top of the first inning. However, he and his teammates went quiet from there. Fantasy managers won't mind too much, as the young outfielder now has four home runs over his last seven games, which has pushed him up to nine long balls for the season. Greene hit a career-high 11 home runs last year, and it looks like he should fly past that number in 2024.

The 23-year-old led off the game by taking Clarke Schmidt deep, giving Greene his third long ball in the last five contests and extending his hitting streak to seven games. Greene was the only Detroit hitter to get anything going Friday, as the team had just five hits overall. The outfielder could have had a bigger game if his teammates had come through, but he's still on a nice six-game hitting streak either way. During that span, Greene is batting a robust .435 with two home runs, four total runs scored and four RBI. It looks like the 23-year-old is primed for a big campaign.

Greene went 4-for-9 with a double, two home runs and three total RBI across both games of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.
Greene provided all of Detroit's offense with a solo home run in the first game Tuesday, a 2-1 loss, but he really got going in the nightcap. He collected three hits in the 11-6 win, including a double and another homer, his seventh of the season. The talented young outfielder has pushed his OPS up to a robust .912, and the sky is the limit for Greene the rest of the way if he manages to stay healthy.

Greene went 2-for-3 with a walk, two home runs and three RBI in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Rays.
The Orlando native put on a show for friends and family in Tampa Bay, launching a solo shot to center field off Ryan Pepiot in the third inning before crushing a Colin Poche fastball to left-center in the eighth for a game-winning, two-run blast. Greene snapped a 14-game homer drought with the performance, but he appears poised on the brink of an offensive eruption -- his 20.6 percent walk rate is more than double last year's mark, while his Statcast page is covered in red ink as he sits in the 99th percentile in barrel rate and 91st percentile in xwOBA. That's translated into a .247/.402/.506 slash line through 102 plate appearances with five homers, 11 RBI and 20 runs.

While Greene's batting average is still a bit underwhelming at .239, his .849 OPS is stronger due to eight extra-base knocks through 19 games. In fact, exactly half of the outfielder's hits have gone for extra bases so far. Greene is heating up, and with his ability to leg out doubles or hit the ball over the wall, he should be primed for good numbers the rest of the way.

Greene moved up to the leadoff spot for the first time this season and responded with a strong game. Perhaps the lineup shuffle will jump-start the 23-year-old, as he's still batting just .214. However, Greene does have a solid .829 OPS, and if he continues to make consistent contact, huge numbers could be right around the corner.

The 23-year-old has primarily hit out of the cleanup spot this season but has also hit second and third, and he'll now make his way to the top of the lineup. Parker Meadows had served as Detroit's leadoff man against right-handed pitching to this point, but it appears his 2-for-25 start is getting him bumped down the order. Greene should see a boost in runs atop the order, though that'll likely be at the expense of RBI.

Greene's eighth inning shot to right center just cleared the wall and represented the lone run for the Tigers on Sunday. Despite a slow start to the season that has seen him collect just six hits in 32 at-bats through nine games, Greene has homered three times thus far, showing some early power after collecting a total of 16 dingers over 754 at-bats during his first two seasons with the Tigers.

Greene did most of his damage in the first game, when he launched his second home run of the young season in the eighth inning. The outfielder is scuffling a bit with a .143 average across six contests, though two of his three total hits so far have left the yard. Greene should get that batting average up, and if he keeps hitting for power, he should be able to put up big numbers.
