49ers' Earnest Brown: Gets let go
Brown was waived by the 49ers on Tuesday, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports.
Brown headed to San Francisco in February after appearing in 12 games over two seasons with the Rams. The Northwestern product will depart the team, along with center Corey Luciano, to make room for recent additions, Chris Hubbard and Shakel Brown to keep the 49ers under the current 90-man roster limit.

49ers' Chris Hubbard: Lands in San Francisco
The 49ers signed Hubbard (biceps) to a one-year, $1.38 million contract Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Hubbard fills a need for San Francisco as a depth swing tackle. The veteran's 2023 campaign came to an early end Week 11 due to a biceps injury, from which he's now presumably recovered.

49ers' Mason Pline: Catches chance in San Francisco
Pline has signed with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent.
After playing both basketball and football at Ferris State University, Pline transferred to Furman for his graduate senior season. He ultimately tallied 282 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 31 receptions. Although it figures to be an uphill battle, the rookie projects to compete with the likes of Cameron Latu (knee), Eric Saubert, Brayden Willis and Jake Tonges for a depth tight end role behind George Kittle in the upcoming season.

49ers' Terique Owens: San Francisco bound
Owens has agreed to terms on a contract with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent.
Owens opted to declare for the NFL Draft after three seasons at Missouri State and ultimately went undrafted. His junior season was his most successful, as he recorded 528 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 28 receptions. The rookie pass catcher will now compete with a plethora of young pass catchers for the opportunity to either provide depth at wide receiver on the team's 53-man roster or a spot on the practice squad.

49ers' Tanner Mordecai: Added to San Francisco's roster
Mordecai has agreed to terms on a contract with the 49ers.
Mordecai was a backup at Oklahoma to commence his collegiate career before transferring to SMU and recording 7,152 yards through the air, 72 touchdowns and 22 interceptions across two seasons. He subsequently played one final season with the Badgers in Wisconsin, where he recorded 2,065 passing yards, nine touchdowns and four interceptions. With plenty of experience under center, he will now look to prove himself as an NFL caliber quarterback in San Francisco. He will presumably compete with Brandon Allen for the No. 3 role under center behind Brock Purdy and Joshua Dobbs.
